Children's Hunger Alliance has partnered with CHP to
provide hot meals to school age children. The summer program is offered at 5 sites and provides breakfast and lunch;
during the school year snacks are offered 5 days a week.
Offered at 5 sites, families receive groceries twice a month to insure that children have food available on days when out of school programming is not in session.
Offered at 6 sites with various levels of participation, creates a forum for residents to actively discuss and problem solve issues in their communities as well as socialize with one another. Groups frequently convene as part of a social venue including cards nights, chili cook-off, pot lucks and pizza parties. One community has had their block watch “adopted” for sponsorship by a local pizzeria.

7 communities and available to scattered site residents; an online program designed to help households determine eligibility and apply for all financial assistance from
federal, state and local agencies. Also allows workers to do online tax filings for
federal and state returns.

7 communities, provides resources for accessing services including child care, mental health, chemical dependency, health, or employment resources in the community.

1 sites, teenagers have an opportunity to hang out with resident services staff two evenings per month and dance, eat pizza and discuss issues they are facing including gangs, violence in the community and school.
Offered at 6 communities, residents can access the internet and can receive assistance at
the communities with developing or posting a resume, online job searches or academic research.
Offered at various communities throughout the year both through a health and safety fair and special events including mobile dental, vision and mammography screenings. 7 communities, including scattered sites have an annual health and safety fair and numerous clean-ups and beautification events are held throughout the year to address communities as needed.
Offered at 7 communities, includes back to school kick off, which provides basic school supplies, books, and backpacks to kids in all grades to ease the financial burden of the beginning of the new school year and help create excitement about heading back to school, holiday gift drives and for the first time this year will include a graduation party. Communities will set aside a day to celebrate their Graduates who will receive a small gift. |
